Because Sometimes, “woo-woo” is Exactly What you Need (Part 1)

I say “woo-woo” in jest, but that’s often the reaction I get when I mention that I work with the human energy system. The truth? Healing Touch is an evidence-based biofield therapy—accredited by the American Holistic Nurses Association—that complements traditional medical treatments beautifully.

And here’s the thing: it just feels so good… so much so that people sometimes can’t quite believe it’s also that effective.

Healing Touch pairs naturally with physical therapy and other medical treatments because it helps the body drop into a state of deep relaxation—almost like a light hypnotic trance. When the body is that relaxed, PT treatments, adjustments, and healing work tend to “stick” and integrate faster.

When we’re recovering from an injury, illness, or chronic condition, the body often pulls back defensively—like building a wall against change. Energy gets stuck.

That’s where Healing Touch comes in. Many PT patients use it alongside their treatment plan to help reduce pain and make progress easier. While your therapist is guiding your range of motion, muscle recruitment, and movement patterns to eliminate chronic pain, Healing Touch can help reduce pain through the process and get your body into a receptive state. Often, I see clients before a PT session, so they arrive relaxed, grounded, and ready to receive treatment.

I also work with clients one-on-one for long-term chronic issues, coaching, and energy balancing.

A real-life story

Take “PM,” for example. She came to me while preparing for bilateral foot surgery, hoping to ease pre-op anxiety and post-op pain. Together we used EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and Healing Touch to calm her nerves before surgery. Her reduced anxiety didn’t surprise me—Healing Touch always brings stress down.

But what did surprise even her surgeon was her recovery time. She had been told to expect 12 weeks before walking unassisted. Instead, she was taking walks outside at just 8 weeks.

On top of that, PM had the very common side effect of constipation from her pain medication, leaving her bloated and uncomfortable. We dedicated one session to this issue, and the very next day she texted me:

“OMG!!! I cannot believe the results from my Healing Touch session yesterday concerning how ‘blocked up’ I have been!! [many poop emojis] Seriously! It’s like the colon cleanse for colonoscopy!! Thank you!”

That’s the power of energy flowing again—when your body relaxes, healing happens.

Another client’s experience:

EF came to me with mild neuropathy in her hands and feet (mostly on the left side) after chemo and radiation for uterine cancer. Just a few hours after her first session, she texted me:

“Back from Hobby Lobby and grocery. Noticing a DIFFERENCE IN LEFT HAND AND FOOT! NOT AS MUCH TINGLING! You’re a magician!”

I’m not a magician. Healing Touch is an evidence-based therapy that works.
