Dr. Amy Wolkin PT, DPT, MBA

Amy’s love for physical therapy began at the age of seven, when she broke her arm by falling off the monkey bars. Fascinated by the x-ray, she knew she was destined for a career where she could educate others about their bodies. As she grew older, she realized that she could not only help people in the short term, but also leave a lasting impact on their quality of life. Amy carried this desire to learn, grow and mentor others through college into her career. She developed a love for women’s health while attending Wellesley College, an all-female school.
Amy’s enthusiasm shines through in everything she does, whether pursuing a dual degree in graduate school, running marathons, or traveling around the world. A life-long runner, she was a member of the cross country team in college and has run the Peachtree Road Race 13 times. Amy studied in New Zealand while in college and loves to spend time outdoors with friends. In fact, her favorite trips are those that involve a destination race or other fun outdoor activity.
Amy is genuine, and loves to speak to and meet new people. Part of her desire to pursue pelvic health stems from her desire to normalize conversations about topics that some may feel are uncomfortable to talk about. She has learned that many orthopedic conditions have underlying pelvic floor impairments and she wants to be able to put people at ease discussing these things.
In addition to educating patients, Amy holds a passion for mentoring young professionals. This started in college, when she founded a science club, serving as a mentor for middle school girls, Her role as a teacher and mentor continues to develop as she gives back to her alma mater through her role as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students.
When she is not at work, Amy loves to travel and you may see her running through the streets of Atlanta. She is an Atlanta native, growing up in Sandy Springs and later returning home to study at Emory University and to begin her career.
